School is out for the summer! Hooray! The last day of school was Tuesday. Adria's teacher said she didn't have to come on Tuesday since they would just be cleaning up, and Tate only had a half day and then they were done! They are happy for summer break, but both really enjoyed school and their friends, so they weren't itching to get out or anything. Tate was even sad as he left because he loves school and playing with his friends.
The week before school got out was super busy and I think I was at the school every day for something that was going on for one of the kids.
Adria had an alphabet parade. She was the letter "V" for violet:
Tate had an assembly at school and he got a medal for being in the top 5 of the first grade class for the most AR points (you read a book and take a test for comprehension. The more you do, the more points you get). He got second place out of all the 1st grade class!
The kids had field day at school where they played games in the gym and outside. Luckily they were both scheduled for the same time, so I only had to go once! Troy enjoyed it, too!
Adria had her end of year kindergarten program on Monday where they sang a few songs. After that, we went outside for a family picnic for all the kindergarten families. And then we brought her home and she was done with school!
Tate had his family picnic for all the first grade families on Tuesday at lunch. He didn't think it was fair that he had to go an extra half day and Adria didn't. We went to the picnic and then we brought him home and he was done with school!
And on Wednesday, the first official day of summer break, Tate slept in until 6:50, Adria slept in until 7:10 and Troy got up sometime between 6 and 6:30 because he was up when I got home from running. We have already been to the pool a couple of times and we have cleaned out both of their rooms. We had a couple of tubs filled with clothes they have outgrown and a garbage sack full of junk to get rid of (with a couple, okay.... a lot of things that I may have thrown in when they weren't looking).
Tate has a few more baseball games and then in a couple of weeks they are going to Bible School and then we head up to Iowa!
Can't wait for that Iowa trip!! Looks like they enjoyed their end of year school parties. They are lucky to have a good school and good teachers. Have fun swimming.....wish our weather would shape up so we could just go outside without an umbrella or a coat.
