Fun Birthday Weekend

We had a fun-filled weekend this past weekend that happened to include Joe's birthday!  He is the big 3-6 (on the downhill to 40 now!).  The kids love celebrating birthdays and we had a good time.

On Friday, Joe went into work to find his whole office had been wrapped up in birthday wrapping paper.  It was so funny!  He had to unwrap the phone, computer, chair, walls, everything.  So the kids and I stopped by after school and the kids had a great time ripping into all of that paper and taking it all off.  Very funny and nice of his coworkers to remember his birthday.

On Saturday, we did stuff around the house, Tate had basketball and we went out for pizza with some great neighbors of ours.  The kids are always playing at their house and they are so fun to hang around.

On Sunday, Joe's birthday, we went to church and after church celebrated with lunch and a cake!

After Troy's nap, we all went bowling.  It was Troy's first time bowling and probably Adria's first time that she can ever remember.  It was fun and Tate even beat me the first game!  But I rallied and came back and beat him the second game (those bumpers really help out!).  Troy's excitement after he knocked down pins was so funny and so cute.  He would put his hands up and scream "yeaahhh" and give high fives all around.

Then on Monday, we all had the day off for MLK day, so we headed to Savannah and Tybee Island for the day.  Of course we ate at Paula Deen's, shopped around and went to the candy store, went to Forsythe Park and headed out to the beach at Tybee Island.  Tate got a metal detector for Christmas and wanted to try that out so he was going all around the beach trying to find a treasure.  He found a couple of coins, a wrapper and a zipper.  (Confession:  we may or may not have planted some of the coins he found).  It was a fun day and we are so happy that we can do these things all in a days drive.

I love the beautiful trees in Savannah.  One of my favorite things there.

Searching for treasure.  So sweet!

Looking for shells.

Overall, it was a busy weekend, but it was filled with fun activities and family time and friends.  Happy Birthday to a wonderful husband, father and my best friend.  We love you so much!

  2. Happy Birthday Joe! Sounds like a pretty good birthday weekend to me:) Especially the fact that you're not wearing a coat in any of the pics!
