On Thursday we got there and checked into our hotel and then went over to my sisters house for pizza. We hung out there for the evening and some of our other family and their friends showed up.
On Friday morning, we did a few errands and then got ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The wedding was at a historical church that is out in the country. It is not in use for church services any more and doesn't even have electricity! It was a very beautiful, rustic place and perfect for her wedding. Troy and Adria did a great job at the rehearsal and walking down the aisle as flower girl and ring bearer. We had a bribe gift for Troy to make sure he would do it on the big day! After the rehearsal we had a wonderful dinner and a nearby restaurant.
On the big wedding day we got up early to decorate the reception area (it was in a reception room at our hotel). Then the ladies went to get our hair done and back to the hotel to get dressed and ready!
Finally, it was wedding time! It was raining pretty hard when we showed up at the chapel, which was pretty stressful! We got some great pictures though and luckily by the time people started showing up the rain had stopped and the sun came out!
Troy and Adria were soooo cute walking down the aisle and the ceremony was short and sweet. After the ceremony were more pictures and on to the reception.
I had to give a toast as the matron of honor. I was dreading it because I hate getting up in front of people, let alone give a speech. I had it written out and it was very short and I made it through it. Terrace, as best man, did a wonderful job on his toast and it was really funny and sweet.
After the meal it was time for DANCING! You should have seen Tate dance! He was out there for every song and the kid has some moves! Troy and Adria enjoyed dancing too, but Tate really loved it! It was fun!
On Sunday, we packed up and headed home. It was such a great time and it was so good to see my sister happy and finally have her day. It was also awesome that so much of our family could be there. Lots of memories were made!
I loved this post! So happy for your sister and glad it all went so well!
