Basketball

Our weekends and some weeknights have been filled with basketball for the past few months.  Tate is playing in a lot of tournaments and scrimmages, Adria has had some basketball practices and we have been going to high school basketball games.  It's fun- nothing else to do in the winter anyway!

Adria has had practices on Sundays for the month of February.  At first she wasn't sure she wanted to go out because last year was kind of a mess.  I encouraged her to try again and told her each year it will get better as everyone on the team improves.  She came back from the first practice and was excited that it was better than last year and each practice has been an improvement.  She told me she wants her team to look like Tate's team and play like they do.  I told her Tate and his friends are playing and practicing all.the.time,- recess, after school, practices- and if she wanted to play like that she would have to practice that much too.  She does go outside and shoot a lot and wants to go up to the gym and play.  She is definitely improving!

Tate usually has a scrimmage or tournament on Saturday's.  They have quite a few boys on their team, so sometimes they have two teams entered in tournaments, which is fine because then they get more playing time.  They are a fun group of boys to watch and they all play really well together.  They already know how to read one another and have had some awesome plays.  Some of the tournament days are long, but it is fun because all the boys and the families are so great and fun to be around.

Poor Troy gets dragged along to all of the games and high school games.  He usually does alright, but I can tell he would rather be anywhere but at another game.  I know I am going to make the older kids go to all of his games and watch him since he has to sit through all of their stuff!
