This year for Thanksgiving we met Joe's brother, Derek, and his wife, Bonnie, and their four kids at Myrtle Beach. They live in North Carolina, so Myrtle Beach was an in-between point for us. Myrtle Beach has a ton of family activities and we had a great time with the whole family. We spent three nights and the condo we rented for just our family had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and living room, so it worked out great for us. Tate and Adria slept in one of the bedrooms that had bunk beds. They were beside themselves with excitement. The first night they giggled for over an hour after they went to bed!

On Thanksgiving day we went to Broadway at Myrtle Beach. It is a huge area with shops and places to eat and things to do. We went to the Wonderworks place which looks like a crooked upside down building. Inside they had a ton of interactive things to do (kind of like a children's museum for big kids). At the end they had a huge ropes course/obstacle course suspended in the air and you were hooked on a rope so you couldn't fall. Adria wanted to do it right away, but she wasn't tall enough to do it by herself so Joe had to go with her. Tate was tall enough, but didn't want to do it. He wanted a dollar for a video game that he wanted to play, so I told him I would give him the dollar if he did the ropes. Of course, he loved it and did a really good job at it. Adria was a little scared once she got up there, so she came down shortly after!
We ate our Thanksgiving dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. They had a nice turkey buffet with all the trimmings. I was happy about that because I thought I was going to miss out on a Thanksgiving dinner! Later the kids went swimming and we ordered pizza.
Then, for the highlight of my trip..... the outlet malls at Myrtle Beach were open all.night.long! Yes!!! They opened up at 10 on Thanksgiving night so me, my sister-in-law and my 16-year-old niece were there! We shopped until about 4 am. We had a great time. I have to say I love shopping.
On Friday we went miniature golfing and when Troy was taking a nap, the kids and Joe went down to the beach. It was a fairly warm afternoon, but the water was freezing! The kids put their swimsuits on anyway and had a great time running in and out of the water. People around them looked at them like they were crazy! After Troy's nap we all went to the aquarium. We had a great time there with all the cousins and Troy enjoyed it too. We had been there before, but Troy was a baby so it was fun to see him this time. He loved the moving sidewalk!

| They had fish and ducks you could feed. It was a highlight of the trip for the kids! |
We had dinner that night and the kids hit the pool again. It was a neat pool that you could swim outdoors from the indoor pool. We got up and checked out the next morning and had one last breakfast with everyone and headed home.

It was so good to spend time with Joe's brother's family. We hadn't seen them in awhile so it was good to catch up. The kids love spending time with their cousins and are still talking about it! On Sunday after church we put up our Christmas decorations and the kids were excited about that too. They couldn't wait for "Johnny" the elf to make his appearance! We will keep you updated on the sightings of the elf!
