On Saturday morning, we left and drove down to my sister's house, which was right on the way. We spent the night with her and got up the next morning to finish out the trip. It worked out great to stay with her on the way to break up our trip.
On Sunday morning, Troy woke me up and said he just threw up. My first thought was, "oh great- where did you throw up?" because we were at my sisters, but he had made it to the garbage can. He seemed ok after that for awhile but then threw up once more before we left. I took a plastic bowl and some paper towels from my sister for the car ride. Poor boy threw up the entire trip down. I felt so bad for him having to be stuck in the car while he was so sick. He would throw up, we would pull over to dump it out, and start driving again. He probably got sick at least 10 times that day. When we got to Gulf Shores, we stopped to get some groceries before we went to our condo. Then we got to our condo and got settled in and hung out and went to bed early.

Luckily on Monday, Troy felt better and had stopped getting sick. He didn't eat much that day, but at least he felt better. It was rainy and cool in the morning, so we went to some outlet stores that they had. It had stopped raining by the afternoon, so we headed to the beach and the kids got in the water. Brrrrr!! It was cold! But they must not have cared too much because they boogie boarded for awhile. The beach was beautiful where we were at and the sand was so nice! That night we went to a fun place called The Hangout to eat. It had a bungee trampoline thing, a foam machine and a sand playground and fire pit. It was a neat spot to hangout :)

On Tuesday, I took a free yoga class in the morning while the kids played basketball. We also played some tennis that day and went to the beach and the indoor swimming pool. The kids also enjoyed the arcade at our beach club because it was all free! Joe and I sat on our balcony for a couple of hours in the afternoon because the sun felt so good and it blocked the wind. That evening we went to the Oyster House to eat and all tried oysters for the first time. After dinner we played a little miniature golf.
On Wednesday, the kids took a tennis lesson in the morning. They enjoyed it and they had clay courts so that was fun to play on. Then we went to the zoo in town. It was very small, but they had some good animals and the kids had fun walking around. Then we looked around at some different souvenir shops. We hung out at the beach and pool in the afternoon and went out for dinner again in the evening.

On Thursday, we packed up and headed out. We decided to take a different way so we could take the ferry over to the mainland. It was fun and the first time the kids have been on a ferry! We drove up to Memphis and stopped by at the pyramid Bass Pro Shops. It was huge and really cool to see. We didn't spend a lot of time there before we left to go on to my sister's house to spend the night.
Then of Friday we headed home! It was a fun and relaxing vacation. It is getting more fun to go on vacations with the kids as they get older. We don't have to worry about naps, they can entertain themselves and it is more relaxing for us! They do great in the car and besides Troy getting sick, everything went smooth. It would have been nice to have warmer weather, but it was still a nice place to visit and I already want to go back when it is hot!
