Waco Trip

We had an AMAZING girls trip to Waco, Texas!  Adria and I went with our BFF's Raegan and Quinnlyn on a 14 hour road trip.  We had been talking about going to see Magnolia Market for awhile and we just decided to go and do it.  It was a super quick trip, but we saw all that we wanted to see.

We started out early on a Thursday morning. We loaded up the car and the girls were loaded up with movies and snacks and books.  They did so good traveling!  They never asked how long it would be and there was absolutely no whining!  It was such a pleasant trip with them.  I started out driving and we were about at Topeka, KS and we were going to look for a place to get gas and stop to eat.  There was a little bit of construction and we wanted to get through the city before stopping, so we kept driving through Topeka, expecting to find a gas station shortly after.  Well...…. there isn't one, much to our surprise.  We were looking for one and starting to get worried, and then my low gas light comes on.  Raegan is searching on her phone for a gas station, but there isn't one close to us for like 40 miles, and I can't even make an illegal U-turn on the interstate to go back because of all the construction.  Raegan and I were quietly starting to freak out, not wanting to let on to the girls that we had a problem.  I pull over right after a construction zone, because we figured there were at least construction guys that could maybe help us.  We were praying on the side of the road for a solution to our problem.  Raegan got out of the car and walked over to the construction guys and explained our situation.  One of the guys comes out of a trailer with a gas can and fills up our car with a 1/4 of a tank!  Praise the Lord!  We tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take the money.  He said this happens a lot (or he was just trying to make us feel better)!  Whew!!!  We were a little shook up for awhile, but then figured it makes for a good story for our trip!

We kept on driving and got all the way to Denton, Tx.  We were hungry and tired of being in the car, so we found a hotel there and spent the night.  Friday morning we got up early and made the rest of trip to Waco, which was about 2 1/2 hours more.  We drove right to Magnolia Table to have a late breakfast/early lunch.  We had about an hour wait and in the meantime we visited the gift shop and signed up for a Waco tour.  It was the best food!

Joanna's mom was there!  So of course, we got a picture with her!  She is so cute!

This was the best avocado toast ever!  And the cheese and grits were so good, too!

After lunch we got in a big van and did the Waco tour.  The guy who signed us up looked familiar, and he was the owner of the company who was actually one of the people on Fixer Upper who had his house remodeled!  That's why he looked familiar!  He said he saw a need to show the tourists that come down to visit Magnolia the rest of Waco.  It was so fun and informational.  Definitely one of the best parts and we wished we could have had a little more time in Waco!

The owner of Waco tours, and he was on one of the Fixer Upper shows.  And he was former model.

After the tour, we went to visit the Silos and the bakery.  We spent some time there looking around and making some purchases, and getting some goodies from the bakery.

That evening we ate at a Mexican place that the people on the tour recommended.  It was really good food.

The next morning, we got up super early to go and eat at Magnolia Table again for breakfast.  We got there by 6:00!  We got right in and were not disappointed by the food!  It was so good again!  Then we got ready in the hotel and found a farmers market that we stopped by.  We also stopped by a couple of shops, then wanted to hit the road to get to Pawhuska, OK to see the Pioneer Woman.  It was about a 6 1/2 to 7 hour drive from Waco to Pawhuska.  We arrived in time to eat supper there and look around the Mercantile.  The food was amazing!  And we are 99% sure we saw Ree across the street at a pizza place!!  We had fun there for a couple of hours and then found a hotel for that night.

On Sunday, we got up and made the rest of the trip home.  It went so smooth (well, besides the running out of gas part), and we had so much fun!  I was dreading the car ride, but it wasn't bad at all.  And I loved seeing Magnolia Market and Pioneer Woman.  What a fun trip!!!
