Myrtle Beach

This past week was spring break for Tate, so we decided to take a little trip to the beach. We went to Myrtle Beach which is about 3 1/2 hours away from our house. We stayed at a hotel called the Dunes for 2 nights. It was an awesome hotel. It had 2 indoor waterparks that were the perfect size for the kids and a couple of outdoor pools and hot tubs. The best part- it was right on the beach. Our room had a bedroom, living room and small kitchen which worked out great for us too.

Right when we got to hotel, of course the kids start jumping on the bed, and our little accident-prone girl jumped from one bed to the other and hit her eye on the pack-n-play. So in the first five minutes at the hotel, this happened:

For the next two days the kids went from the beach to the waterpark, back to the beach and then back to the waterpark. They LOVED playing in the sand at the beach and collecting seashells. I loved laying on the beach in the sun. Very relaxing.

The waterpark had a couple of waterslides that were just the right size for the kids. While I was in the room with Troy, Joe let them go down one by themselves that I thought was too big, but they did it and they loved it. Tate is always a little hesitant to do things at first, but Adria will do anything. She went down some slides first, and Tate thought since she did it and came out OK, then he could do it too. That's right, he has his little sister do things first to see if it's OK.

On the last day we went to Ripley's Aquarium. It was fun and had a lot of sharks to look at and some interactive things for the kids too.

There was a lot of stuff that we didn't get to, but I am sure we will be back soon. One of the perks of living close to the beach is that we can make it a weekend trip- and believe me, we are going to take full advantage of it while we are here!
