Fun Weekend

Our weekend was busy and fun.  On Saturday we had a neighborhood block party.  It was nice because we got to meet a lot of neighbors that we have seen walk by or at the pool, and now we have a name to put with the face.  They even hauled a flat screen TV out and set it up so no one had to miss a minute of football.

On Sunday we decided to go to Hilton Head for a day at the beach.  I guess we should have checked the weather before we went because as we were getting closer to the beach, it started sprinkling off and on.  We hoped maybe we would get lucky and it would pass after we ate, but it didn't.  We stopped at the Salty Dog for lunch and walked around that area for awhile.  The Salty Dog is a popular restaurant in Hilton Head and it had really, really good seafood.


Notice the sign says "no crabbing allowed", so we thought it would be appropriate to take a picture.

Then we headed to the beach, and it had awesome fine white sand.  And wind.  And rain.  So much for a day at the beach.  There was a shopping area and some splash fountains nearby, so we had to settle for that instead. 

We still had a good time despite the weather and now I can't wait to go back to lay on the beach.
