We just got back from a great trip to Disneyworld! We thought we would go one last time before we moved back up to Iowa and bring Troy this time, because last time the poor kid didn't get to go! We had an awesome time and all the kids did great. We had just as much fun as last time and we know we want to go back. That place really sucks you in!
We left on Sunday morning and made the 7.5 hour drive to Orlando. We checked in at our hotel, Disney's Art of Animation. It was sooooo neat! We had the Nemo room, so we had an underwater theme in our suite. Right away when we got in the room, no less than five minutes later we were in the pool! The kids were so excited to swim and we stayed and played for awhile before we went out to dinner at the Rainforest Café. By the time we got to the table, Troy decided he wasn't too thrilled with the restaurant and all the noises and animals.

On Monday morning we got up early and went to Magic Kingdom. We went right over to the Buzz Lightyear ride and did that a couple of times because the kids remembered it was one of their favorites last time. Then Adria and I decided to try Space Mountain. She is my girl who likes to ride the thrilling rides. We left the boys behind and they did a different, more calm ride. :) And Tate did his first rollercoaster this year, so that is a big step for him! He said he liked it, too! We were at the park the entire day and stayed for the electrical parade and the fireworks and Tinkerbell flying from the castle. What a long day! But the kids did great, and we even convinced Troy to take a nap in the stroller and we felt like we saw almost all of the stuff we wanted to. Adria was disappointed because we didn't see any princesses but the lines were way too long and we didn't have time to wait for every character.

| Ready to go to the Magic Kingdom! Btw- Troy did not like this shirt. He kept calling it his "broken head" Mickey shirt. I tried explaining that his head was supposed to be the Mickey Mouse head, but he couldn't get it. :) |

On Tuesday, we kind of had a more relaxed day. We went to downtown Disney and ate at the T-Rex restaurant. Again, Troy didn't care for that one either with all the noises and animals. Then I got lucky and got Adria a last minute appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to get her hair done like a princess. She was so excited! She loved getting her hair done and when we were walking out of the store, she said "I can't stop smiling" and she thanked me a million times for taking her and she said it was the best thing ever. We swam some more that day and hung out in our room that night.

On Wednesday, we got up super early to be at our Chef Mickey breakfast by 7:00. I love this breakfast because you get to see all the characters and don't have to wait in line to get a picture. Troy loved it too because all he wanted to do was see Mickey Mouse and now he got to up close! We got the kids the autograph books so all the characters could sign their book and then there is a spot for the picture. After the breakfast we headed over to Animal Kingdom. We did everything we wanted to there and left about 3:00, which was good because then it started to rain after we left. That evening, we didn't have anything to do so we went to the boardwalk and walked around.

On Thursday, we went to Hollywood Studios. We went straight back to get in line to sign the kids up for the Jedi training. Then went around and did everything we could. We did the Toy Story ride (it was awesome!), the car stunt show, saw a ton of cool characters, the kids did the Jedi training with Darth Vader, and saw the Fantasmic firework show at the end of the day. It was a really chilly day, but we got lucky and the rain held off all day. Actually, we got lucky the entire trip because for 3 days it was supposed to rain, and we never got rained on in the parks.

On Friday, we got up and headed back home. It was such a great trip and it was so much fun to have Troy along this time. I wasn't quite sure how he was going to do, but he did great and was such a trooper, even when he was scared on rides. Our hotel room was awesome, the pool was great, and all the parks were so much fun. The two older kids are big enough to ride almost anything, so that makes it more fun. We are so happy that we got to go one last time before we move back and had a great family vacation. Now we can't wait to go back!
Looks like you had a great time. I'm glad you could go one more time and have Troy with you. Maybe in a couple of years we can all go!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you still want to go back! And I LOVED Adria's face with Joe on that one ride...priceless!
